Deb's chickens

My friend and former cow-orker Deb left her exciting desk job in favor of urban homesteading. I stopped by last Sunday to see how she is progressing. I didn't get photos of her cool raised beds or her awesome greenhouse, so I'll just have to go back for another visit. But I did get a couple snaps of her chickens.
I also got more than a couple of their lovely eggs, some very freshly laid.
It was, after all, Easter Sunday.
Thanks, Deb!

  1. Those are PURDY!
Do you know any other local place in Denver where one could get farm fresh eggs?

  2. Are those eggs in the bottom picture dyed or is that their natural color? Beautiful no matter how they got that way. You know, I really wanted chickens in my back yard but I had to negotiate with my husband and we compromised on bees. That 12-pack of eggs makes me want to start the negotiations all over again.

  6. Those are the natural egg colors, Pam! Cool, huh?

Summer, try In Season Local Market or the indoor farmers market on Santa Fe.

    Kimchi, they are, aren't they?

Greengate, the chickens are a hoot!

I like the idea of chickens, but it's easier to visit them than keep them. Especially compared with bees.
