After a good day's hiking and the drive back to the city, we had something really special to look forward to: a delicious dinner at Chez Panisse in Berkeley. It did not disappoint. Everything was absolutely fresh and delicious and interesting. The service is friendly, attentive yet unobtrusive, and the courses are paced so you don't feel at all rushed or overstuffed.
The sauces are so good that the bread basket was raided quite a bit to sop up every last drop.
