Garden palette

Flowers are popping out all over! The tree peony is quite showy, and a good week ahead of the regular ones:
The early-blooming clematis is already fading:
The flax is a vigorous reseeder:
The chives also keep volunteering in new pots but don't seem interested in rooting in the ground, which is fine by me:
Poppy:
Purple iris:
Soapwort:
And columbines:

  1. Your flowers are gorgeous!!! I love them all - but that peony is especially wonderful.

Looks like you had a nice time in CA. I've only been to Yosemite once - and late in season so very little water on the falls. Think we'll have to hit it in the spring next time. The photos were great.

  2. It really is spectacular, isn't it? Go before Memorial Day; I hear it gets a little crazy there after.

I'm going to miss my garden a lot. I won't be able to do much this summer with the new one, since I need to see how the sun hits it and spend some time just living with it before I can figure out how best to redo it.

At least it's reasonably presentable already, as opposed to the huge expanse of bare dirt I started with here.
