Coveted blossoms

I don't have these flowers in my yard, but they are easy to grow. I'm making a mental note to plant some seeds this fall or next spring.

I know, sunflowers can be really weedy, but I have the space and they make me smile.

In my old yard I raked in a big packet of assorted Colorado wildflower seeds all over, and it was really interesting to see what came up over the next few years. Some seeds didn't germinate until year two, and were a pleasant surprise. I ended up with a lot of columbines, poppies and coneflowers of various sorts. I'll try that again here after the first snow.
