Glad that he is obviously feeling better. My dogs do that in the car while I am in a convenience store or getting gas, much to the chagrin of everyone in line.

Having had five poodles in the house before, Kris, my answer is nope, not enough couch space. (For one thing, I have no couch anymore.) However, you're welcome to drop them off after Lannie and Leo go home!
Barb, I saw the note in the meds bag: prednisone may make him "excitable." I believe that's what we've got here: "Listening to Prednisone."
