You are so lucky you can get milk straight from a goat! I was looking the other day to see where I could get fresh goat milk. No kidding. I didn't find any.
I get raw milk from Larga Vista Ranch every two weeks and it's a real treat! I split a milkshare with some friends. Am trying my hand at cheese-making right now. Last week we made our own panir for sag panir - very tasty. Mozzarella is next on my list. And kefir. All part of my eating local focus after reading Barbara Kingsolver's book, Animal, Vegetable, Miracle.

ReplyDeleteMary, check out http://realmilk.org/ .. .there may be a supplier near you listed there, or one who can point you in the right direction.
ReplyDeletedb, this was on a little "ranchette" about 25 minutes away (if the traffic's good). I'll post more photos and details tomorrow.
Cute and very awesome, katy and alecto! It really was fun.
