Ham bone recipe: Red beans and rice

I've had a ham bone in the freezer with some extra chunks of ham since Thanksgiving. I wanted to make something other than split pea soup, so I googled around and found this recipe for red beans and rice for the crockpot.
It's very simple: Just throw in the split bone, some onions, garlic and a pound of soaked red beans and cover with water. Cook on high for a couple of hours, then reduce to low and cook another 10 to 12 hours. My timing isn't great, as this will be ready about when I go to bed, but I'll have it for dinner tomorrow and report back on how it it tastes.

P.S. The finished product is here.
