Here's something you don't get to do every day!
This is Rosie the tarantula, who is really one of about 30 Rosies in the stable at The Butterfly Pavilion. Rosie hangs out in a room full of creepy-crawlies, most of them behind glass, and thankfully so. Hissing cockroaches and giant centipedes? Yeeccchhhh.
But Rosie's pretty cool, and you get sticker for letting her march across your palm.
I got some nice shots of butterflies, too. I'll post them later.
Rosie is fuzzy lol.

Ha! Aw, I was standing in line with the all the kids waiting to hold her.
ReplyDeleteYes, Jessy, she's fuzzy! No petting, though. Just holding.
Rosie! She looks so much smaller on your hand!
ReplyDeleteI thought of you when we were there, Manisha.
ReplyDeleteI didn't get any doggone sticker!
ReplyDelete'Course, that was probably a decade ago. They called that spider "Rosie," too, but I'd be surprised if it were the same one.
Amy (the screaming one) is a buddy of mine. That's how I found your site. You take GREAT pictures! I want to know how you stay so skinny when you're chowing down on cheese bread and waffles all the time. You must be a runner or something.
Hi, esri rose! thanks for stopping by. Surely it's not the same Rosie as then (you're probably a little changed, too, if it's been 10 years).
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm not a runner. I only run if someone is chasing me.
The bulk (ahem) of my baking endeavors goes to my cow-orkers, which helps keep the bulk away from me.
Glad you like my photos! The secret is: take lots. Lots and lots. If you take 100 pictures of something, you can usually find one or two worth posting.
rosie tikled me!!! I loved it:)
