Naptime

I used to have a lot of trouble sleeping. Even as a baby, I wasn't much of a napper. I remember it being particularly bad when I was working swing shift in South Dakota. I didn't have TV, so I got a lot of reading done, often until the sun came up.

Then I got Sophie. Having a dog meant walking every day. And without much else to do, we walked pretty far. Suddenly it became much easier to go to bed after work. And to take naps.

I've come to love a good nap. It helps to have dogs who also love naps. And to have a good spot for napping that is not the bed. The window seat fills that bill, as evidenced by this day-after-the-wedding photo.

It's also possible to have an excellent nap in the car.

Where do you like to nap?

  1. I love naps. Anywhere I can grab one! Gracie, our Cavalier spaniel, is what I call my "nap accessory." She's either sprawled on my lap or curled up against my legs. Just like a hot water bottle.

  2. I don't nap. Ever. But I DO love that picture!

  3. I find it very difficult to nap. I have too much to do, I guess, and can't turn off my brain.

  4. I like napping in the sun by the pool or in my comfy bed.

  5. I nap in the car (when my hubby is driving) and on the couch. Fifteen minutes, tops on the couch, but I think longer in the car.

  6. I never nap on weekdays, but on the weekend, it's not unusual for me to sack out on the couch or the bed. Only for 20 minutes or so. Then I get up and have an iced coffer! Napping with poodles is great, isn't it?

  7. I can nap just about anywhere - in the car, in our window seat, on the couch - I've even napped on the BART train on the way home from work and had to be awakened by a kindly fellow passenger when I got to the end of the line. I love naps. They are good for you.
