Shipwrecked

It seems I've lost the knack of the power nap. I used to be able to lie down for 20 minutes or half an hour before work and drift off a little – just enough to recharge my batteries.

Now, though, when I allow myself the luxury on the weekend, I can't plan on a little pleasure cruise of a nap. I end up like the S.S. Minnow, shipwrecked in the Land of Nod for far more time than I expected.

  1. Oh man, I hope that doesn't happen to me. I love a 20 minute power down.

  2. I'm afraid I'm no help. Some days I can nap. Some days not. Can't figure out what the deciding factor is, either. Hope you get your zzzs back!

  3. I've never met a nap that didn't last at least two hours.

  4. When the kids were little I used to set the kitchen timer for 20 minutes for a power nap. One of the kids wrote a story for school in which I said "Set the timer for another 20 minutes.

  5. Betts, the problem really is that I don't have a deadline anymore. Napping before work meant I HAD to get up.

JGH, it's not that I have trouble napping, but that I can't seem to STOP.

Titus, I got a five-hour one in the other day.

Peggy, that's too cute! Yes, just 20 more, and 20 more ...
