Silly kitchen gadget No. 15

Do you really need to spend $30 on an "herb saver"? It's got a little water reservoir in the bottom.

Save your $30 and do this: cut off the ends of the herb stems. Put the herbs in a glass or coffee cup with some water. Put a plastic bag over the herbs. You can blow into the bag to inflate it a little. Place cup, herbs and bag in fridge.

Now that's how you save some green.

  1. This is what AB would call a UniTasker - and a silly one at that! You're so right, a glass with water at the bottom works just as well.

  4. Alright, I have to confess that I own one of these. But, in my defense, it was a gift.

It actually does work, but you are right that a glass in the fridge (covered perhaps) will also do the trick.

  5. Gifts are allowed! It does have a useful function; it's just something that's so easily accomplished with what's already at hand.
