Still not goofing off

Well, I did lounge around in the morning. But the carpet's been crying out for attention. The living room sees a lot of heavy traffic, and the shag-type berber was look pretty grungy.

Talk about a tedious job. You want to run the cleaner over the carpet verrrrrrry slowly, to suck up as much water as possible. Once over the whole thing with cleaning solution, then a drying pass. Then again with plain water, and another couple of drying passes. I really should do this more often.

  1. dang you are doing spring cleaning in the fall - be carefull you might start a trend

  2. I love that my house is carpet-free :)

And by the way, I love your red walls!

  3. Would you take a day off? You're making the rest of us look bad.

  4. Love the color of those walls. Who even sees the carpet with that a knockout like that? (Except you, of course.)

  5. db, I'm a big procrastinator on jobs like this. It is spring cleaning, just six months late.

Vicki, there's only carpet in the living room and the two upstairs bedrooms. The rest us hardwood or slate, which is definitely easier to keep clean. I have to say, though, the old dog does like the carpet. Much surer footing. The red walls are not quite as dark as they appear here, but the color is striking.

Betts, it had to be done! The weather was so nice, I could leave the doors and windows open for drying.

Thanks, duck! But this is the "before" photo ;-)

Thanks, Claire! But it was getting dirty enough to distract from the walls. Ugh.
