Dinner at The Elm

Met up with some friends at The Elm, on West Colfax at Elm Street (natch). I present my poorly lit pint of Guinness and roast beef sandwich. Not bad, but it was so loud in there (Red Sox game on) that I couldn't hear half of what anyone was saying. And I was tired. So I didn't stay long.

  1. i love that you say "natch". :) That just makes me very happy. Also, beautiful pics on the last post. :D We don't get color changes in Hawaii. *sigh* :(

  2. Boy that's a true American meal before you! Tonight we're going to Ray's the Classic, which is all about American food with the emphasis on beef. So even though I try like the devil to eat a healthy, local, and currently "approved" diet, your picture inspires me to just order the prime rib and be done with it. I'll be virtuous tomorrow. And I'm not sure what this means, but the melted square of cheese is sweet.

  3. Why does "natch" make you happy, kasey? The grass is always greener ... I wouldn't mind being in Hawaii with its beaches and volcanoes and all the tropical stuff we don't have here.

Pam, except maybe the beer should be, I dunno, PBR? How was your steak?

  4. The steak turned into scallops wrapped in bacon with a mango-apricot-horseradish chutney. Very tasty, but heavy. (Or maybe it was the half-piece of coconut cream pie that was heavy.) I shoulda stuck with the steak idea. That chard lasanga recipe looks fabulous! I may make it this week.. probably with spinach.

  5. Use lots and lots of spinach, Pam! Mmm. Bacon might be good in it, too.
